Visit to the National Marine Aquarium

We're learning about the REMEDIES seagrass restoration project in Plymouth with the Ocean Conservation Trust.

07 Sep

16:00 - 18:00

National Marine Aquarium

Stride Treglown’s Plymouth studio are visiting the National Marine Aquarium with Loveday Trinick of Ocean Conservation Trust.

Loveday will provide a talk about the local REMEDIES seagrass restoration project in Plymouth, explaining the importance of protecting the local seagrass and its high level of carbon sequestration, which is higher than trees! We’ll have an introduction to the new National Marine Park status of Plymouth Sound and a visit to the seagrass laboratories to see how the grass is prepared to be transplanted to the seabed. We want to encourage companies to invest in this local project if carbon offsetting is required, instead of paying money to plant trees/woodland elsewhere in the world.

You can’t join us for our Be Inspired events. But perhaps we can inspire you to organise something similar in your area? Sign up to our newsletter to receive practical tips for your own climate action event.
